Search features

The PPC can use the following listing sources:

• Local database contains listings of your advertisers.
• XML feeds like SearchFeed, etc.

The PPC software displays results from your own database first. Then, if no results are found, it will use the XML feeds from another search engine, if turned on.

The search page can display the cost to advertiser, and the date added, or these options may be turned off.

The XML feeds provided by the software are merely examples of how to use XML feeds from another PPC search engine. You may use the samples or you may modify/add your own. Most other PPCs offer free ASP code that you can use.

Speed, Scalability, & Performance

Many other PPC scripts written claim their software will support a large volume of traffic. We have found this to be untrue. This PPC was developed to handle a large number of simultaneous searches, yet not require dedicated servers, etc. The database is optimized for SQL Server 2000 but can handle MSDE 2000 and SQL Server 7.0. All indexes have been optimized. The ASP code does not use high-overhead variables, known as application variables.

Advertisers

Advertisers can raise funds on their accounts using one of the supported credit card gateways.

• PayPal.com

Proxy Bidding.

Suppose you are an advertiser. You bid 10 cents per click for the keyword dog. A competitor of your's bids 5 cents per click. You are the number one bidder, he is number two. You only pay one penny more than him because that is that maximum it took to get to the number one position.

This will save your advertisers money, thus, keep them using your PPC.

Affiliate Program

Affiliate program is the most important partnership type. If some site owner wants to supply his surfers with a search engine and wants to get revenues he can sign up to your PPC and join affiliate program. Then he can at a search box to his site. He may login to the site at any given time and view his statistics and how much he has made.

You may set the affiliate payment type to either Pay Per Click or Pay Per Search. If affiliate has enough money in his account, he can request payment from you.

Admin features

Admin of the PPC Search Engine has full control of all actions performed by the software:

• Can view payment history.
• Can view URLs list.
• Can view listings list.
• Can view affiliates list.
• Can view advertiser info, update balance, enable/disable.
• Can manage related searches/categories.
